This morning, it was extremely interesting when I saw the following two links in the Twitter feed, one after another:
Two articles which titles say that great organizations start from two opposite places. The reality of it is that, they are both right.
Leaders have to ensure that they empower staff and give them the opportunities to do amazing things, while staff needs to push the status quo, be innovative, collaborative, while sharing individual strengths for the greater good. In my years in education, I have never seen a great school/division not have both. The only thing that may be different, is that a leader can actually squash the strengths of great educators.
Is this a chicken and egg story? Thoughts?
